A Simple Guide to Regain Focus, Get Fired-up and Reroute
How to maintain the good habits acquired in Ramadan and Reset your body after a full month of festivities
Start early and start your day with good intention. Motivation may not necessarily comes every day. But intention will keep you consistent. Push away the temptation to hit the snooze button to get the extra 10 minutes of mediocre sleep. Make wudhu and perform your Fajr prayer. Spend some time to recite the Quran and make dua for a good day. Write a to-do-list, keep 3 things at maximum. Simple and achievable. The goal is to feel accomplished, not further overwhelming.
The key to a good productivity model, is to focus more on the most important things of the day and less about efficiency. This is a peaceful approach to productivity. Choose your top 3 most important things to achieve for the day, anchor your time and focus on these 3 goals, away from the tyranny of the “urgents”. Shift from more to less. Slow down to speed up. This will save you from the burnout of multitasking everything to achieve efficiency.
Small sense of achievement matters. Start off with consistently making up your bed in the morning. It reminds you that you can do things; like actually going and doing the thing. Get in a workout. Actually get ready and put on your workout outfit. If going to the gym is too much, break some sweat at your bedside. Exercise release endorphin that boosts your mood for the day.
Do grocery shopping to ensure you have enough healthy fuel options for the week. Prioritize real whole food over processed ones. Make sure you stock up on proteins like fish, chicken, eggs, tofu, and beans, and fiber like fruits and vegetables. Protein and fiber make you feel full longer. Do food prep. Prepare your protein; clean, cut and store them in portions for easy meal prep throughout the week. Clean and cut your vegetables and fruits to make them ready for a grab. Have healthy snacks ready like dates, fruits, nuts, dark chocolate, vegetable chips or yogurt to feed that cravings.

Our body is an amanah that needed to be taken care of and optimized to its potential, to serve our purpose of life. Remind yourself what you do all the time, matters so much more than what you do every once in a while. Progress is about consistency, not perfection. It is okay to slip every now and then. Let go of the guilt. View this as a realistic, sustainable and healthy lifestyle. One day will not derail you. Just get back on track and focus on the bigger picture. You can do this!
